· In the Eight Olympic will participate the teams of Oxford and Cambridge Universities, as well as Universidad Austral de Chile and a rowing selected group of Valdivia.
The arrival of the Oxford and Cambridge University rowers, special guests at the First International Rowing Competition, «50th Anniversary Cup Universidad Austral de Chile», organised by Universidad Austral de Chile to commemorate its 50th anniversary, was on Sunday November 7th.
During this week the british and national crews have been training strongly on the Calle Calle River to perform in a high level for the main event of this competition, which will be the Eight Olympic programmed for noon on Saturday 13th. The start will be at the Mulatas area. The finish line will be at the Mirador de Remo (six thousand metres of distance) on Prat Avenue, close to the Calle Calle Bridge.
The competition will start on Friday from 10.00 AM and it includes 15 events. On Saturday the races will continue at 10.00 AM with 13 events, one of them the Eight Olympic, then the Award Ceremony is programmed at 12.30 PM.
The british competitors beyond the trainings have had the opportunity to enjoy a nice spring wheather in the very South of Chile and the hospitality of their host families. Also they have participated in some extra activities such as campus and city tours and a seminar for the rowing team coaches, etc.
