The first place was for the Team A of Universidad Austral de Chile in the Eight Olympic, main event of the First International Rowing Competition, "»50th Anniversary Cup Universidad Austral de Chile"», on November 13th in Valdivia. In this opportunity participated the british rowing teams of Cambridge, Oxford University, and two crews of the Universidad Austral de Chile.
This was a really significant activity in the beautiful surrounding areas of Valdivia, with the only navigable river in Chile known both for its natural beauty and its university campus. Also, many people had the possibility to enjoy this competition and being part of this sport celebration.
A special award was for the team b of Universidad Austral, who got the 4th place in the Eight Olympic. The third position was for Oxford University, who mencionated to be thankful for having the opportunity to be in Valdivia, but not very happy with the result of this competition; Andrew Dunn, part of this team said: "»we have never being happy to lose with Cambridge, but it was a fair race, the fastest crew won"» .
The second place was for Cambridge University. Rick Dunn, rower of this team said "»we have had a very nice time here inValdivia and are very happy to get the second place"».
Finally, Cristian Yantani (Chile), part of the winning team said he was very pleased with this results and for giving a nice spectacle to the valdivian public, also he expressed being looking forward the South American Championship, which will take place in two weeks in Valparaiso, Chile.
